Rocha do Navio Nature Reserve

The Rocha do Navio Nature Reserve is a protected neighbourhood located in Santana that was founded in 1997 by the initiative of the local population. Rocha do Navio covers a costal strip and it´s rocky island is considered a potential habitat for the monk seal and is home to rare plants that grow only on the cliffs of the Macaronesian Islands. You may visit this nature reserve but be advised that underwater sea hunting and fishing with nets is strictly prohibited.
