Drive to Camacha, the village of basket weavers and access the Levada da Serra from Camacha to Santo da Serra. You will be picked up at the destination of the hike.

Drive to the entrance of the Levada Fonte Vermelha. Hike on the old coastal path to Porto da Cruz. This path was previously carved into the rock and it is not only the incredible physical work that is fascinating today! You will be picked up in Porto da Cruz and continue to Santo da Serra.

From the Levada da Serra at an altitude of approx. 600 m hike through eucalyptus and laurel forests, with tree heather and mayflower trees. Nice picnic areas, tunnels, streams, a waterfall and great views bring a lot of variety. From Ribeiro Frio drive to Santana, the place with the typical thatched-roof houses.

Pure nature! Drive to the Queimadas nature reserve and hike along the Levada do Caldeirao Verde (green cauldron). Through rocky gorges and along many small waterfalls. The largest falls from about 70 m into a small mountain lake.

The decision is made by the weather! If the peaks are overcast, hike along the coast from Santana to Sao Jorge. For experienced hikers, we recommend the hike from Achada do Teixeira to Pico Ruivo (1862 m) and on to Pico do Arieiro (4.5 hours) in open weather. Your ascent to the summit!
