The Green Cauldron

The wildly romantic Levada Trail in the "Green Cauldron" (Caldeirão Verde) takes us to one of the most pristine regions of the island. Here it is necessary to cross narrow tunnels, from the mountain slopes rushing imposing waterfalls into the valley. We experience jungle-like vegetation, impressive gorges, breathtaking views on the valley of Santana and finally reaching the Green Cauldron with its nearly 100m high waterfall.

Boca da Corrida - Encumeada

Pico Arieiro - Pico Ruivo

Climb the highest peaks of Madeira with us. In this excursion you will have the opportunity to get to know the mountain world of Madeira in all its fascination. With our bus we drive to the starting point, the Pico do Arieiro. From here, our hike takes us over the Pico do Arieiro to the Pico das Torres and from there to the Pico Ruívo. Then we continue to the Achada do Teixeira, the destination of our hike. This panoramic trail is the undisputed highlight of every Madeira visit. With our bus we drive to the end of the village of Santana, which we can visit and offers us various restaurants.

Maroços

Levada da Serra do Faial

The half-day levada hike takes you through the "Vale Paraiso", the paradise valley, with lush vegetation. On the way you can enjoy fantastic views of the mountains, the sea and the capital Funchal.

Rabaçal

Enjoy with us the impressive landscape of the UNESCO World Heritage - our laurel forests! During this walk you will learn about the levadas system and its long tunnels. The nature reserve of Rabaçal with its man-sized tree heaths, different kinds of laurel trees and the rare Mayflower trees is unique. We walk to the Risco waterfall and the 25 springs. At the end of the hike, we cross the rider's tunnel and reach the south side of the island. In the afternoon we visit the sugar cane factory of Calheta, where liquor and sugar cane syrup are still produced today.

Fanal

Through besom and tree heath we hike above the green forests of Rabaçal and enjoy beautiful panoramic views over the plateau Paul da Serra. We walk through laurel forests, cross small streams and slowly climb upwards. From lovely viewing platforms we have a marvelous view over the northcoast of Madeira. The highlight is the fairytale forest Fanal, in which the oldest and most impressive laurel trees stand.

Ponta São Lourenço

Here where the island ends and the sea begins ....one of the most beautiful faces of Madeira shows you, rugged basalt rocks, azure bays and endemic vegetation.This hike is one of the most popular on the island of Madeira. Our bus takes us from Calheta to the easternmost tip of the island, Ponta de São Lourenço. Starting point of the hike is Baia da Abra (75 m). From here we walk via Casa do Sardinha to Ponta do Furado (125 m) and back to Baia da Abra. Afterwards we visit the former whaling village Caniçal.

Great views of the north side of the island await you along the way.
