Lobo Marinho
Set sail on the "Lobo Marinho" to Porto Santo…
Docked in the port of Funchal is the “Lobo Marinho” (Sea Lion), a ferry that connects Madeira to Porto Santo. The duration of the trip is of approximately 2,5 hours.
The trip to Porto Santo is a very scenic one, with spectacular views of Madeira´s steep coastlines, the airport runway and of the Ponta de São Lourenço.
Also visible from the “Lobo Marinho” are the three tiny island , the “Desertas Islands”- a nature reserve. There islands are inhabited by sea lions and a poisonous spider.
Madeira slowly disappears into the mist and the ferry - right on high seas - glides through the deep blue waves of the Atlantic. On board Restaurants, cinema and small shops keep passengers entertained. A little later: land in sight – you have arrived in Porto Santo.
