Portela
Simply spectacular! The Portela viewpoint, located at about 1.6km from Vila Baleira shows off a fantastic panoramic view that include such sights as the long golden sand beach, Vila Baleira, Pico de Baixo and the Ilhéu de Cima. On the way to this viewpoint you will encounter the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Graça (built in 1851). The road leading to the viewpoint is beautifully lined with tall palm trees
Pico Castelo
During the 16th century a small fortress was built on this mountain´s fortress to resist the invasion of French and Algerian pirates. Today, it’s a great viewpoint that offers a unique view of Porto Santo
Pico do Facho
It was at Pico do Facho, the highest mountain on the island (517 meters), where in past times torches were lit in order to warn the population of approaching enemy ships.
On the east slope of Pico de Facho, hikers will marvel at the variety of landscape of the Serra de Fora and of the wide valley of Serra de Dentro showing off enchanting little coves and the rough seas of the North.
Pico de Ana Ferreira
The Pedreira viewpoint is located at the Pico de Ana Ferreira. From this viewpoint one may see the ilhéu de Fora and the Pico do Facho and Pico Castelo mountains.
The quarry consists of prismatic columns of very different structures, popularly known as the "piano". Those are able to climb the summit will enjoy a spectacular panoramic view over the city.
